DNS propagation status
Type a name. Five resolvers — the big public ones and my own ns1 — say what they believe right now. When they disagree, the change is still travelling.
The checker is being built. When it works, this panel takes a name and a record type and shows each resolver’s answer side by side.
Why this lab exists.
Every time I move a site between machines I end up with three tabs of somebody else’s checker. This is the one tab, on my own iron, with my own nameserver in the list.
Fresh every time
Queries go out with a new socket each time; nothing is cached on my side.
Straight from ns1
The authoritative answer comes from my own nameserver; the rest are whatever those resolvers hand back, TTL included.
Nothing stored
It only looks up names you type. Nothing is kept beyond the current result.
